What this does: The Responses tab is where you work through answers waiting for review. It shows you what has arrived, what is still outstanding, and what you have already dealt with, and it is where you mark an answer complete or raise a query on it.
Before you start
All answers will show on this tab.
The two statuses: For Review and Queried only appear here if you have set Review Answers on the request.
See Turning on Review Answers for a request.
How to find your review queue
- Open your request.
- Go to step 4, Share & Track.
- Select the Responses tab, between Publish & share and Activity log.
The Responses tab opens filtered to For review, so you land on the answers waiting for you rather than the whole request.
Reading the response summary
The panel at the top gives you the state of the request at a glance: the due date, when the next reminder goes out, and overall progress.
Below that is a count of every question, by status:
- To do: your client has not submitted an answer yet.
- For review: submitted and waiting on you.
- Queried: you have sent it back and are waiting on your client.
- Completed: you have reviewed it and closed it off.
- n/a: your client marked it as not applicable. These sit outside the progress count.
The count is the fastest way to see who a request is waiting on. Anything in For review is waiting on you.
Finding a specific answer
Use the filters above the question list:
- Status: change it from For review to see completed, queried or outstanding questions.
- Page and Section: narrow to one part of a long request.
- Search questions: find a question by name or by what your client answered.
Questions stay grouped under their page and section headings, so you keep the structure of the request as you work through it.
Marking an answer complete
- Click the question to expand it and see the answer your client submitted.
- Check it covers what you asked for.
- Choose Mark complete.
The answer is locked, so your client can no longer change it, and the question moves to Completed. Your client sees it as done, which is how it already looked to them.
If the answer is not right, raise a query on it instead. See Raising and sending queries.
What happens to the request
When your client has answered everything, the request shows as Submitted. From there it goes one of two ways:
- Mark every reviewable answer complete and the request becomes Completed.
- Query anything and the request goes back to In progress until it is resolved.
You can see this on your dashboard as well as in the request. See Navigating the requests dashboard.
Notes
- Only questions you set for review appear in the review queue. Everything else completes when your client submits it.
- Anyone with access to the request can review its answers. Access follows your existing request permissions, so if someone cannot see the request, they cannot see its answers. See Control who sees your clients’ information.
- Review actions are recorded automatically in the Activity log, alongside everything else on the request. See How to access and use activity logs.
- If you need to change an answer you have already completed, reopen the question to unlock it. Reopening does not notify your client, so add a comment to tell them what you need.
