What this does: Advanced Template Settings let you pre-configure details that would otherwise need to be filled in each time you create a request from the template. This includes the request owner, due date rules, and customised email subject and body. It’s particularly useful for teams where different team members create requests from the same template and you want consistency in how those requests are set up and sent.

Accessing Advanced Template Settings

    1. Go to Templates in the left-hand menu.
    2. Open the template you want to configure.
    3. Select step 1. Setup tab on the main navigation within the template.
    4. The settings are split over 5 further tabs:
      • Template
      • Access
      • File Saving
      • Reminder
      • Email

Available settings

1. Template tab

a) Default request owner

Set which team member is assigned as the owner by default when a new request is created from this template. The owner can be changed on individual requests.

b) Due date offset

Instead of setting a fixed due date each time, you can set a relative due date — for example, “14 days after the request is sent.” When a request is created from this template, the due date is automatically calculated.

c) Recipients

If your request is client specific, you can add them to the request so they are pre populated on creation. This doesn’t send them the request automatically.

2. Access tab

a) Your team

Set who has access to the request within your team if your plan allows it

b) Client security

Toggle on/off whether this request should require a passcode to enter.

3. File Saving tab

Set the default for the request downloads, including linking to your storage drives and folder structure.

4. Reminder

Toggle which client messages this request will send, how long your overdue reminders will continue etc.

5. Email

Customise the default email subject line and body text that appear when sending a request from this template. Use dynamic fields (like the client’s first name or the request name) to make the email feel personalised without rewriting it each time.

After configuring these settings, click Save. Any new request created from this template will use these defaults.
