What this does: A request is the core unit of work in Gatheroo – it’s a form you build, send to a client and use to collect information or documents. Requests can be simple (a single page with a few fields) or complex (multiple pages with conditional logic, multiple recipients, and automated reminders). This guide covers the basics of creating a new request from scratch.
How to create a new request
- Click Requests in the left-hand menu, then click New Request. Or use the Quick Actions shortcut on the Dashboard.
- Enter a Request Name – this is your internal reference, not what the client sees as the title.
- Select the Contact this request is for. If the contact doesn’t exist yet, add them first via the Contacts page.
- Click Create. The Request Builder opens.
Building your request
The Request Builder has three areas:
- Left panel: your page and section structure, plus the field type menu
- Canvas: where your request is visually laid out
- Right panel: settings for whichever field, section, or page is selected
- Click on the canvas to select elements and edit them, or drag field types from the left menu onto the canvas.
- When you’re happy with the content, move to step 4. Publish in the top right.
Next steps after creating a request
- Send the request to your client
- Configure request settings — access control, reminders, file storage
- Add conditional logic to make the request smarter
