What this field does: The File Upload field lets clients upload documents directly into your request. You can restrict which file types are accepted and set a maximum number of files per upload. Uploaded files are stored securely in Gatheroo and can be downloaded individually or as a zip file.
How to add a File Upload field
- Open your request in the Request Builder.
- Click Add a field and select File Upload to add it to the current section.
- Enter a Field Name – be clear about what you need (e.g. “Upload your most recent bank statements”).
- Enter instructions to further direct your clients to provide the correct information.
Available field settings
- Mandatory: requires the client to upload at least one file before submitting.
- Accepted file types: restrict uploads to specific types (e.g. PDF only, or PDF and images). Leave unrestricted to accept any file type.
- Maximum files: set a limit on how many files the client can upload to this field.
- Maximum file size: set a limit on the size of each file the client can upload.
What clients see
Clients see an upload area where they can drag and drop files or click to browse their machine for the files they want to share. The accepted file types and any limits are shown. Once uploaded, files show a status indicator.
Downloading uploaded files
Once a client has submitted files, you can download them from within the request one file or field at a time, or download everything in the request in one go. See Downloads Folder Structure for details on how to download files and how the zip folder is organised.
